Knight's Sporting Memorabilia
3rd July 2011
Tim Knight began ‘Knight’s Sporting Memorabilia Auctions’ from home in 1994 following a successful fund-raising auction for Aldborough Cricket Club in July 1993. Since 1995 we have been based at the Thatched Gallery on the green.
We hold four two-day auctions each year and are currently using Leicester County Cricket Club as a venue. We have also had two auctions in Melbourne, Australia (1996 and 1998).
Knight’s is now recognised internationally as one of the leading auctioneers of Sporting Memorabilia, with a database of over 1200 customers worldwide. Our printed catalogues are available two weeks prior to each auction and at our company website
Customers do not have to attend an auction to make a bid as we receive commission bids by post, fax, email or by live phone lines into the auction room.
Although we specialise in cricket memorabilia we are now selling a considerable proportion of football items, along with rugby, golf, tennis, olympics, boxing and other sports. If you have anything of interest call Tim on 01263 768488 for a free valuation with no obligation to sell.
Ian Botham’s bat, pictured left, with which he famously scored 149 not out against the Australians during the third Test at Headingley in 1981, sold at our auction in September 1999 for a hammer price of £10,500.
