K.J. and L.M. Lanham (CLOSED)

Ken Lanham worked as a butcher for over 40 years. He started with a job in Brockdish, then took a succession of jobs in Islington before becoming manager of a butchers in Chingford. Then in 1971, with his wife Lesley and three children, he took over the lease of the shop in Brockdish where he had first started his trade.Ken and Lesley bought the butchers shop overlooking the village green at Aldborough in 1984. Whole carcasses were delivered from Blakes abattoir of Norwich - all meat supplied wass from farms in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Ken and Lesley prided themselves on the quality of the produce supplied in their shop and were always happy to give advice.

Sadly the shop closed at the end of 2008 when Ken and Lesley retired as no buyer could be found for the business.
